Leather Care
AMELI bags are made to last and we want to support you in the best possible way in taking care of yours.
Leather is a tough, tear-resistant material that becomes more beautiful over time. However, in order to maintain your bag’s soft and supple texture, we would like to provide you with some simple steps to take care of your beloved AMELI bag.
Leather has some water resistance - but, of course - too much water will make the material wet. As the leather dries, the material can become stiff and lose its resilient texture. Using quality leather care products containing fats and oils helps moisturize the material and keep it waterproof, supple and luminous.

How to Clean
Should your AMELI get very wet, wipe off any residual water as soon as possible and let it air dry naturally, away from sunlight and heat (no hairdryer!). Every now and then, clean your AMELI with a soft, slightly damp cloth.

How to Maintain
Every 2-3 months, nourish your AMELI bag with a leather conditioner containing fats and/or oils to restore moisture and improve the material’s look. You can have a look at our PATINA leather milk if you like. It is an all-natural option that keeps your bag waterproof and ensures that the leather and color continue to look their best – shake, put a very small drop of the leather milk on a dry, clean sponge and rub gently and evenly over the bag. Let the milk seep in.

How to Store
Just like our skin, leather darkens in areas exposed to light. Leather areas that receive a high amount of indoor light or sunlight tend to discolour, stiffen and dry out over time. Put your AMELI bag inside our dust bag and store it on a shelf in a low-light environment. Should you keep your CENTRAL bag stored for a longer period of time, please put the clutch inside the big compartment of the bag.
What not to do
Please stay away from products that contain alcohol or acetone, as they will cause severe damage to your leather bag by removing color from the material and leaving bleached spots. We also ask you to never put your AMELI in the washing machine. Last but not least, please consider that different leathers age in different ways and some are more delicate than others. This leather care guide is specifically designed for our AMELI bags. For suede or nappa leather please refer to respective leather care tips.
Proper leather care helps us appreciate leather as one of the precious materials nature has provided us with. Let us do that and enjoy our AMELI bags for many, many years.
